MD Comput 1988 May-Jun;5(3):25-37 Problem-solving using neural networks. Hripcsak G. A neural network is a simulation of a real nervous system. A network contains neurons, which are connected to each other by axons. It can be used to solve problems. Networks that minimize energy can solve optimization problems. Learning networks can be taught to perform transformations on data. Networks that learn by the delta rule are demonstrated. Neural networks can exploit parallel computer architectures.
