A postdoctoral position is immediately available for a highly motivated individual to work with Dr. Chunhua Weng in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University.

This project will design knowledge-based, semantic processing algorithms that use electronic health records to improve the efficiency of clinical trials screening and recruitment.

The candidate is expected to produce publishable, standards-based, and generalizable software that has an impact on clinical trials recruitment.

Applicants should have a PhD degree in related fields, e.g., computer science/engineering or information science, or an MD degree with a computing background. Requirements include strong programming and database query skills; at least two first author papers written in English in journals or conference proceedings; and good verbal and written communication skills.

Candidates should be able to visit New York City for interviews without a visa application (this is imperative).
