TITLE: Staff Associate
The Department of Biomedical Informatics is looking to hire a Staff Associate to work with Dr. Nicholas Tatonetti on a project to conduct research in the study of systems biology and biomedical informatics; analyzes data from various sources such as whole genome sequencing, functional annotation databases and experimental pharmacology.
The main scope of research is to study the molecular mechanism of therapeutic targets and apply the results to a variety of topics in systems pharmacology such as identifying potential targets for the treatment of complex human diseases, predicting adverse events of therapeutics, combining with network biology to systematically explain the cause of drug-drug interaction, etc.
The Staff Associate will be expected to participate in all phases of this project including the following:
– Collect research data.
– Use statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, as well as software developed by the lab to analyze data.
– Interpret results, compile information and results into meaningful formats to ensure content is appropriately represented.
– Write research proposals/papers and prepare into publishable format.
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Informatics or equivalent in education and experience plus 4 years of experience is required.
Experience working in computational GPCR research, data integration and statistical analysis is essential.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
