Development, evaluation, and implementation of innovative patient-centered technologies facilitating delivery of personalized medicine models for chronic disease prevention and management is the main focus of Dr. Finkelstein’s research. This research currently includes three major areas: (1) interactive tailored patient engagement and empowerment; (2) pharmacogenomics for personalized medication management; and (3) analysis of heterogeneous health information datasets for building individualized patient care prediction models. Dr. Finkelstein’s work resulted in multiple publications, grant awards, patents and successful translation of research results into clinical practice. His recent clinical trials demonstrated positive impact of personalized patient engagement and empowerment on patient-reported outcomes and objective clinical metrics.
