Gongbo Zhang is an Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. His research focuses on natural language processing and information retrieval, with the goal of improving how biomedical evidence is extracted, synthesized, interpreted, and translated into clinical knowledge.

His work has appeared in leading venues including npj Digital Medicine, the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association, the Journal of Biomedical Informatics, and the Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics. Before joining Columbia, he worked as a software engineer at Google Cloud. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Delaware.
